Zongter - Chic dimsum spot deep inside the Chinatown area
What to Order: Bamboo and Pork wrap with noodles, Steamed chewy shrimp dumplings, Steamed pork Shumai, Taro Pork & Shiitake mushrooms spring rolls, Deep fried BBQ red pork mini buns, Chilli garlic Shrimp with curry egg Gravy
Rates: 250THB per person
This place is a good respite from the noise and the heat outside, a quiet, airconditioned hideout.
They will give you a infographic card with all the pictures of the dimsums with english and thai names, and a separate ordering sheet with a pencil to tick against each item number corresponding to the info card. Its simple, and you can take your time in deciding what and how many you want. Even the drinks are all in the ordering card. The staff doesnt speak much english.
Since the menu is so standardized, the service is quick and each order of dimsum or wonton will come in its own pretty little china, with some common dipping sauces. Prices are very reasonable, so it is a great place to try all kinds of different things between 2 people as they mostly come in pairs or threes. The fare is delicious, some will absolutely blow your mind, some will make you think, some might not impress your palate. I have recommended some of my favorites above. Go be adventurous and pick your favorites!
