What to Order: Steamed Prawns with glass noodles, Mussels with Thai basil

Rates: 300THB per dish

The location is a little away from the main city, across the river and the tourists, but its a trip worth taking. This former street stall has turned into a bigger deal (and rightly so) with AC seating options. They make the glass noodles by hand and the seafood is fresh and cooked just right.

The steamed prawns with glass noodles come in a small hot pot, with a garlicky broth at the bottom, and glass noodles cooked in the broth. I saw everyone going in with their hands and so did I! The noodles were so springy and delicious and the prawns super fresh and garlic forward. I wiped out every bit of that bowl, including the caramelized crusts of the noodles around the edges. This was one of the best dishes I have eaten in Bangkok.

I also tried the mussels after seeing them on the next table. They were steamed with aromatic Thai basil, simple and fragrant. But the prawn & noodles were definitely the highlight of the day. Highly recommend.

Couldn't try the crabs but they looked good and certainly seemed popular too.

Order a beer on the side and prepare to get your hands dirty for this very rewarding meal!
