Satay Jae Aeng - 40 year old satay spot

What to order: Chicken Satay, Deep fried river fish

Right next to the modern building of 'I am Chinatown', this satay spot is supposed to be in existence since 40 years. The meats are marinated in a coconut milk, turmeric, palm sugar paste and pineapple is used for tenderizing the meat. The grilling is done right in front of you by a guy in a beekeepers helmet. The skewers were just perfect and I could have eaten 3 plates of them myself. Just a few stalls down a lady serves deep fried river fish with some pickled cucumbers. The flavor profile is very different than the satay, but I would highly recommend having both during your visit.
