What to Order: Tom Yum Goong, Deep fried Beef Strips with Chilli sauce

Rates: 250 THB per person

Classical old place, unassuming, serving great food at a reasonable price. Its a place that is clean enough but actually feels unclean because of the darb interiors, but I guess that makes the character of such places. There is also a very old, original, beautifully hand painted menu framed on the wall. Obviously those rates dont apply anymore.

The Tom Yum Goong was tangy and perfect. The heat was well balanced, manageable for the Indian palette. The shrimp was just cooked right, juicy and transluscent. The fragrant soup with a side of rice together made for a refreshing, light meal, perfect for a hot day. I had also ordred a side of deep fried beef strips with chilli sauce, which worked well in breaking the heat and tanginees of the soup.
